Read between the linings...
When you see a nice bespoke suit, or a custom made dinner jacket, you tend to focus on what you see on the exterior of the jacket. Naturally and understandably, the focus is usually on the outside of the jacket.
During the early stages of the design process, customers take time when choosing fabrics, materials, buttons etc., but we also like to encourage them to invest similar time when it comes to choosing the lining of their garment. It’s all about attention to detail. Whilst the lining of the garment is not always in view, people will get the odd glimpse, and these brief encounters speak volumes about your clothes.
For most people, it’s not a major feature of a jacket, pair of trousers or waistcoat, but when you open someone’s eyes to endless possibilities of designs and the potential to create something truly unique, you can have some real fun letting your imagination run wild as your bespoke garment comes to life.
There are many options to consider for linings that range from a simple plain fabric, to a pattern or we’ve even been known to use photographs and images for the final design. Not only can you choose virtually anything for the design of the lining, there’s the added touch of embroidery, again there are really no limits to where you can go with this. We’ve had everything from dates (numbers and roman numerals) to quotes, and even hashtags!
As you can see from the examples above, there is no set template to the construction of a piece of clothing, it varies from the person to suit them as an individual, tailored to suit their vibe, so every item we make is completely unique. A lining is not just a lining, it's a piece of brilliance inside a jacket that shows off a confident, dapper individual with personality and presence.
