An Unforgettable Day In Edinburgh

Last Saturday, 30 guests joined us for what proved to be a truly memorable occasion. We were delighted to welcome everyone and show our appreciation for their continued support. 

We started the day at The Bonnie Badger with sandwiches and a genuinely incredible pumpkin soup. Which was the perfect start to a very special day. 

Guests then split into two groups for the afternoon’s activities, organised by the amazing team at Porsche Centre Edinburgh and Thomas and Rupert from Buck & Birch. 

The first group headed out for a Porsche driving experience, getting behind the wheel of some remarkable vehicles. A surprise detour to the National Museum of Flight to see Concorde was a real highlight. 

The second group explored the Gullane coastline on a foraging walk with Buck & Birch, just minutes from the hotel. Discovering wild ingredients hiding along familiar paths reminded us just how much nature has to offer. 

After swapping activities, everyone returned to The Bonnie Badger for a cocktail masterclass with Buck & Birch. Using what we’d foraged, we created two cocktails, the Wild Aelder and Ginger Fizz and the Wild Autumn Sour. 

The evening began with pre-dinner drinks in The Garden. 

John Curtis then hosted a conversation with Andrew, Grant Cameron from Porsche Centre Edinburgh and Chef Tom Kitchin. The discussion explored the pursuit of excellence and the importance of sourcing locally, whether that’s the finest ingredients for the kitchen or the quality cloth for bespoke tailoring. 

Chef Tom Kitchin closed the evening with his signature ‘From Nature to Plate’ approach, showcasing Scotland’s finest seasonal ingredients.
