A TALL ORDER…
Recently, we had the pleasure of working with professional rugby player, Fraser McKenzie. Fraser is 27 and plays for top tier team, Edinburgh Rugby. He was introduced to our work when a friend of his had a bespoke outfit made for his wedding.
He clearly like what he saw as it encouraged Fraser to seek out our services, to get him suited for his own special day which took place this past May. Not only was this a special project for his wedding, but Fraser doesn’t have the same build as the ‘average’ man. Now, we know that we’re always saying no one is built the same way, but not many people are 6”7 and built like a tank, outside of the sport of rugby anyway!
Through a series of meetings, taking measurements, making changes and alterations where they were needed, we worked with Fraser through the entire design and production process. His initial view of his garments was nothing but a selection of fabrics and materials in our showroom, so he could see his outfit coming to life in front of him.
For men of similar build and stature to Fraser, finding everyday clothes that are comfortable to wear is a task in itself, so to find something that is suitable for an event such as a wedding, a ball, party and so on, going down the bespoke route is the best option.
There is of course a ‘feel-good’ factor when you wear something that is fitted to you, but you don’t want to just feel good, you want people to turn their heads when you walk into the room.
Not only cause you’re built like the side of a building, but because you look the part as well, whilst wearing something that no one else on the planet, never mind the room has.

Jamie Ritchie
Andrew Brookes has a long history of creating bespoke, tailor-made wedding suits that reflect the groom’s Scottish heritage. A born and bred Dundonian, rugby player Jamie Ritchie joined other sportsmen such as Greig Laidlaw, Dunghan van der Merwe, Jamie Murray and Scott Meenagh in commissioning a bespoke wedding suit from Andrew Brookes for his big day.
